Prior to joining Castronovo & McKinney in 2015, Alyssa Chabak served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Hany A. Mawla, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Somerset County, Law Division and Special Civil Parts. During her clerkship, Alyssa drafted the published Opinion in the matter of Skey v. Ehsan. In addition, she drafted judicial opinions in various subject areas including employment law, contracts, professional and medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance and property law. Alyssa also received AOC accreditation in mediation for small claims, landlord-tenant and family-type disputes, and was recognized as having mediated the highest number of cases to successful resolution during the 2014-2015 term.
Alyssa is a 2011 graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey, having earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Law and Society with a Minor in History. Alyssa received her Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law – Camden in 2014. During law school, Alyssa worked as a legal intern for the in-house counsel at Somerset Medical Center, presently Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset. While there, she consistently produced memoranda focused on health care and compliance issues and regularly drafted and reviewed contracts related to release of liability and indemnification.
Alyssa is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
